This past week both Mya and Emily had to be quarantined, but Emmy didn’t. Don’t worry neither of us had corona, we had to quarantine out of precaution. Since we were stuck at home because of this, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity given.
Mya realized that when she was running she never really pushed herself to run an even faster mile. She saw that she wasn’t pushing herself because after running she was never really super tired. So she decided to run faster and was happy with her result. She brought her mile time down to 6:43. It is not her personal best but it is getting very close to it. Emily realized over this downtime at home that if she wants to meet her personal best mile time, she should be running in a different location. In the neighborhood she lives in, there are hills everywhere you go. So running here can be quite a challenge, especially if you are trying to cut your time down. So she went to a different location and ran her mile in 6:38! Luckily for Emmy, she did not have to quarantine and got to stick to her normal routine. Emmy found that running in planet fitness on the treadmill was not very fun, and she mentally didn’t have it in her to push herself because of the stale environment of the gym. So she began running around her neighborhood, and even though there are hills it was still a lot more enjoyable than being in a gym. Her mile time went down to 7:57! We were all very proud of ourselves and of each other this week. This week was definitely a good week for all of us, and hopefully our progression will keep moving forward.
